Rod Hightower, a longtime EAA member, pilot, aviation enthusiast, and businessman, will become EAA’s new president on September 7. Tom Poberezny, chairman and current president, made the announcement on Monday at an opening day press conference. Hightower is only the third president in EAA history and the first outside the Poberezny family.

EAA today named longtime pilot and EAA member Rod Hightower, EAA 357443, as the incoming president of the
association. Hightower was introduced by current chairman and president, Tom Poberezny, during his opening day remarks. A
press conference will be held at 3 p.m. today at Press Headquarters on the AirVenture grounds.

Preparations for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 continue at a brisk pace, despite the rain the Oshkosh area has experienced in the past week. People and planes are still coming, and EAA is welcoming all, though some may find themselves temporarily displaced to alternate locations until convention grounds dry.
